Covered, partly covered, nothing

The coverage verdict on a topic. Each of the three states implies a different job, which is the only reason to have states at all.

What to do

  • Covered: a page of yours serves this and it is holding up. Keep it current, and do not write a second one.
  • Partly covered: something here half-answers the subject, or answers it but is not ranking or being cited. Fix the page you have before you pay to write another.
  • Nothing covers this: no page of yours is on the subject. This is where new writing goes.

How it works

  • Commercially, the distinction that matters is "partly covered" against "nothing". Most tools colour both amber and leave you to guess. Write a second page for a subject that already has a weak one, and the two pages end up competing with each other.
  • State comes from evidence: whether any page matches the topic closely enough, and how that page is performing where we can see it.
  • Once a topic is measured on two or more signals, its card shows a health band instead (Strong, Fair or Weak). The coverage verdict is the fallback, because it is the one thing we always know.
