How Vizebel works
What each step does, what every number means, and what to do about it.
Getting started
The five questions, what each one does, and what to do first.
- What AEO isAnswer engine optimisation: being the business an AI assistant names when someone asks it who to buy from.
- Your progressFive questions, in order: who are you talking to, what do you want to be known for, what have you already got, how are you being found, and what should you change next. Each one feeds the next, and once the work is live the last one leads back to the fourth.
- AudiencesThe situations your customers are in, read from your site: who is usually in each, what they need to get done, what they need to know before deciding, and their words.
- Getting startedThe short list at the top of your workspace after setup, showing what is still to do with the most helpful step first.
- Where you’re starting fromVizebel reads your content and each Google source as a stage, and what it suggests fits the stage you are at.
- Ask VizViz answers questions about what is on your screen. It can see your programme state, your real questions, who gets named instead of you and which pages scored badly.
Measuring
Writing the questions, asking them, and freezing a set you can compare.
- QuestionsThe sentences your buyers actually type into an assistant, so "Who are the best commercial architects in Auckland?" rather than "commercial architects Auckland".
- KeywordsThe Google searches you should be the answer to: a short list of the terms worth winning.
- Buying momentThe specific thing a buyer is trying to do when they ask: work out what a symptom means, compare two kinds of solution, ask for a shortlist, check whether a brand is legit. Every question in the bank tests one buying moment, grouped under its phase.
- How it is askedTwo ways people put a buying question to an assistant. Conversational is a sentence or two of situation and then the ask; direct is four to fourteen words, typed the way they would into a search box.
- RunsOne pass of your questions against the engines, with every answer kept in full, word for word.
- SnapshotsA run you have frozen as a baseline. Later runs are compared against it, and that is how you find out whether anything you did worked.
- When to re-runRe-ask the same frozen set and see what moved: by hand once your published work has had time to land, about every three months, or every month with Re-run monthly.
- EnginesThe assistants we ask, each one separately because they rarely agree: up to four of ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Google AI Overviews.
- Variants and fragilityA variant is the same question with one buyer condition added, such as "for a five-person team" or "that works with Xero". One added condition rewrites most of an AI answer, and the pair shows whether you survive it.
Reading the results
What mentioned, cited and visible mean, and what each gap tells you to do.
- Buying phaseWhere in a purchase decision the question sits: awareness (finding options), consideration (comparing them), decision (checking one out).
- What wins a questionEach site an engine cited is tagged with who published it (a review site, a forum, government guidance, a professional body, a competitor, another vendor). Each buying moment also has a page shape that tends to win it, such as a checklist, a comparison, a roundup or a case study.
- What you say, and what they askThis screen sets what your business says about itself beside what customers search and ask, and shows where your pages answer them.
- What customers askReal questions and searches about a topic, from Google, YouTube, People also ask, Search Console and Reddit. Each one shows whether a page of yours answers it.
- Who AI answers citeThe sites AI answers point to for this topic’s questions, grouped by kind, such as review sites, forums, government guidance, competitors or other vendors.
- MentionedYour name appeared in the answer, so the engine sees you as one of the options for that question.
- CitedThe answer linked to one of your pages, so the engine sent the reader to you.
- AI visibilityThe share of AI answers that name your business. An answer is one question asked of one AI engine.
- CoverageHow much of your question bank has actually been measured so far.
- CompetitorsEvery other business the engines name in your answers, some of which you may never have thought of as competitors.
- Share of voiceHow often AI answers name your business compared with the competitors you list, as your share of every time one of you is named.
- How you show up by momentOne row per buying moment: how visible you are on it, what kind of page answers it today, what you already have on it (your audited articles, by shape), and the one move. The move is Keep (you have a page in the shape that wins), Reshape (your pages on it are the wrong shape), Write (nothing on it yet) or Get listed (it is won on other sites).
Your site
Your pages, the tech checks, the topic map, your Google data, and the report.
- Focus areasThe handful of subjects you want to be recognised in. Broader than a topic, narrower than your market, with the topics that serve each one underneath.
- TopicsOne map of the subjects you should own. Everything you have on a subject hangs off its topic, so you can judge it as a whole.
- Covered, partly covered, nothingThe coverage verdict on a topic. Each of the three states implies a different job, which is the only reason to have states at all.
- Topic healthOne number per topic, and a ring split in two. The left half is your pages (do they answer what customers ask, and do they hold up), and the right half is your reach: are you found in Google, does that earn the click, do AI answers name you, and do the visits do anything.
- Monthly reportThe month in one document: a plain summary, the month at a glance, the last 13 months, how each focus area is doing, whether AI assistants name you, what is working and what needs attention, and the next steps.
- ContentEvery page we found on your site, how each one scores on review, and the search traffic it gets.
- Page scoreHow ready one page is to be quoted by an assistant: does it answer a real question directly, in a form an assistant can find and lift?
- Search Console and AnalyticsConnect your own Google accounts and you see what people actually searched, where you ranked, who arrived and what they did. It is free to connect and free to keep in sync.
- TechnicalWhether the assistants can actually reach and read your site. It covers robots rules, sitemaps, structured data, blocked AI crawlers and the page-level findings from the crawl.
- Voice checkWould a reader believe a person at your business wrote this page? We check it rule by rule against our own writing guide.
- Check the factsStatements on this page a reader would act on that could be wrong. Say whether each is right before you rewrite, and the draft follows your answers.
- Add your examplesWhat only your business can tell a reader: your own examples and figures, and how you work. Answer before you rewrite, and the draft uses your words.
- Issues across your pagesThe same fault on many pages, reported once: how many pages carry it, how many points it costs, and whether it is one change to your site’s template or work on each page.
Writing
Ideas, page shapes, drafts, and getting an answer published.
- IdeasWork worth doing, from your own results. Planned articles come first, and the other tabs hold ideas from AI answers and Google searches, places to get listed and questions to track.
- ReshapeA rewrite of an article you already have into the shape its buying moment wants, from the material on the page. A Selection criteria essay becomes a checklist; a Head to head think-piece becomes a comparison table.
- Page shapeThe kind of page an idea should become: a checklist, a comparison, an alternatives page, a guide, a case study, a data piece. It comes from the buying moment the idea answers, and from the competitor brief when one has run.
- Why they got citedAnalyse citations reads the pages an engine actually quoted on one question and tells you what those pages have that yours does not.
- Open articles per topicEach topic has up to three open articles to write at a time. Vizebel keeps the rest waiting, best first.
- StudioWhere an idea becomes a draft, written to be quoted and in the voice we learned from your existing writing.
- Review a draft, and check it went liveOnce a rewrite has no gaps left, review the draft to see the score it would bring beside the live page’s, and every point between that score and 100.
- The reader testA separate AI model reads every draft as the customer it’s for and scores, out of 100, whether they’d read it, trust it and act on it. 60 passes.
Plan & credits
What things cost, how credits work, and what a plan buys.
- CreditsWhat real work costs, at roughly one credit per unit of work: a question asked, say, or a page scored or crawled.
- AutopilotViz goes through your workspace on your schedule and puts up to five next steps on Today, each with its reason. Routine steps run themselves, then one email reports.
- MCPWork in your workspace from Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, VS Code or Cursor, through Vizebel’s MCP server. Your app can read your results, review and rewrite pages, gather what customers ask and work through Studio drafts.
- API accessPull your AI-answer results into your own tools: a key reads the workspace, its question sets and questions, and each run with its results.
- Team and rolesInvite the people you work with. We don’t charge per person: a plan is priced by credits and workspaces.
- WorkspacesEach business gets its own workspace. If you run a second business, or the same one in another market, add another and switch between them.
- Your logo and client guestsOn the Agency plan, your logo and colour sit beside each client’s workspace, and your colour runs through every report. We keep the product name as Vizebel, so your client knows what they are using.
- PlansA plan buys a monthly credit allowance and how many workspaces you can run. You can also buy credits without a plan.
