What customers ask
Real questions and searches about a topic, from Google, YouTube, People also ask, Search Console and Reddit, and whether a page of yours answers each one.

What to do
- Green: a page answers it. Keep that page current.
- Amber: a page partly answers it. Add the answer to that page before writing a new one.
- Red outline: no page yet. Add it to Ideas to plan one.
- Dashed: one of our suggested questions, not something a customer asked.
How it works
- Search suggestions are what Google and YouTube offer as people type: the topic’s main search term with a question word in front (how, what, why…) or a linking word after it (for, with, vs…). It is the method AnswerThePublic uses. A suggestion shows that people search a phrase, in Google’s order; it carries no search volume.
- The search terms come from the topic’s keywords and the searches that already reach your pages, weighted by how often Google shows them. They are shown above the list.
- A suggestion is kept only if it is about the topic, compared by meaning. Ones that name another country’s market are left out.
- Each one is matched to your pages by meaning, as Ideas are. A page counts as the answer only when its title or description names at least half of what is asked, and only while its review holds up. A match can be wrong, so the page’s title is shown for you to judge.
- Looking costs one credit per topic, for the People also ask search. Search suggestions are free but rate-limited, so a look takes about half a minute per topic.
